Matt Hill Projects fabricated this monumental lounging kangaroo for Goodman Group's Redbank development in Brisbane. Measuring approximately 10 metres long, 6 metres wide and 3.5 metres high, the sculpture transforms a familiar Australian form into an unmistakable presence within the industrial landscape.
The sculpture was designed and fabricated from 3mm Corten steel at the Matt Hill Projects workshop in Rosebud. Its complex faceted surface required an extraordinary volume of welding, grinding and sanding to achieve the final form and finish.
Transported to Brisbane in sections on a flatbed truck with a pilot vehicle, the kangaroo was assembled and welded onsite by the Matt Hill Projects team, with Spaceframe Builders assisting with logistics.
